Emotions will be displayed as: text {emotion} Gana is one of the monks in the Bantisu Air Temple. Their job is to make sure the canyon doesn't claim lives of foolish travelers. They are friendly, hopeful that the player will help them. Seluc is a traveler from Olux that probably has a bad past experience with humans. He is distrusting of them, including the player. He isn't very brave and tries to mask his fear with firm and commanding voice. He often lies and tries to exploit the player, holding him responsible for all the difficulties he has to face. //Pre quest [1/1] Gana: Welcome to Bantisu Temple, adventurer. There is an urgent matter at hand, but I can not in good faith ask anyone under level 84 to take on this task. {friendly and kind} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1/6] Gana: Welcome to Bantisu Temple, wandering human. We aid travelers such as yourself in navigating the capricious canyon walls. {welcoming, explaining} [2/6] Gana: We commune with the wind, and she gives us her sight. Wherever the breeze blows, we may see. {sublimely} [3/6] Gana: You appear quite strong, and well-kept by your wits. Might we ask you to aid us, then? {admiringly, then pleading but still graceful} [4/6] Gana: You see, a lost man is staking out in a camp on the nearby cliff faces. It pains us to see him, but be unable to reach him. {explaining, honest} [5/6] Gana: The canyon creatures there are ruthless, and we are not suited to physical combat. We would be able to reach him, but we would be stranded ourselves. {pleading, with a subtone of slight desperation} [6/6] Gana: So we ask you to guide Seluc to us. We shall send you to him, and you shall bring him here. If you wish to help, you will be rewarded for your time. {clear, hopeful} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- //Waiting dialogue [1/2] Gana: Seluc hides in a camp northeast of here, atop the cliffs. {explaining} [2/2] Gana: We ask you to guide Seluc to us. If you wish to help, you will be rewarded for your time. {clear, hopeful} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1/5] Seluc: Who's that? Am I finally being rescued!? {hopeful, excited, desperate} [2/5] Seluc: Wait, a human! Ugh, I shouldn’t have gotten my hopes up. What did you do, take a day of cliff diving? {briefly surprised, then disappointed, finally contemptuously} [3/5] Seluc: If you really did intend to rescue me, you've assuredly wasted both our time. {slightly less contemptuous, but a bit hostile} [4/5] Seluc: If you really want to make yourself useful, get a Bantisu monk over here! You’re good at doing that, right? Fetching things and people? {clear and bad-tempered} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1/3] Seluc: You’re trying to kill me, aren’t you?! What, can’t take hearing the truth? Now my coat is drenched, and! AND! {angry, struggling to find words} [2/3] Seluc: These Jinko are going to pounce any second now!! I haven’t got a weapon, were you expecting me to rush off and get into a rumble?! {still angry, but starting to sound worried} [3/3] Seluc: Kill them! Kill them now! And get me OUT OF HERE! You got me into this mess, now get me out!! {urgently, trying to mask fear with commanding tone} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1/2] Seluc: Ugh, all that danger got me flustered. I’m sweating in this coat...and it’s all soaked already. Let me just... {trying to recover from the shock} [2/2] Seluc: ...set that aside. Congratulations, human! I’m probably never getting that coat back, and it cost me a pretty sum. Thanks for nothing. {sarcastic, starting to sound hostile again} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1/4] Seluc: All this walking...I’m taking a break here. You forced me to jump off a cliff, I get to force you to slow down. It’s only fair!. Besides that... {determined} [2/4] Seluc: I only even came out here to see the view. At least that can’t be ruined. Still, some vacation this turned out to be... {slightly relaxed} [3/4] Seluc: Wait, what in the world- What’s going on?! {surprised, scared} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1/3] Seluc: NO ONE TELLS ME ANYTHING! The brochure didn’t mention earthquakes, YOU didn’t tell me either, but what was I expecting from a human anyways?! {in disbelief, trying to find someone to hold responsible} [2/3] Seluc: I’m not a carrot! You’d better get me out of h- ...wait, wait, those... {steaming with anger, suddenly scared} [3/3] Seluc: H-Hobgoblins. Hobgoblins HOBGOBLINS THERE’S HOBGOBLINS!! KILL THEM! AAAAH! AAH! AAAAAAH! {terrified} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1/1] Seluc: Sweet baby bovine I just saw my life flash before my eyes. Ugh...now pull me up. I’m stuck. But easy on the goods, I’m NOT a carrot I’ll remind you! {recovering from the shock, then trying to sound firm} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1/2] Seluc: Great. I’m SO grateful to be covered in mud and hobgoblin blood, and to be lacking my coat, AND to be stuck with a human. {slowly getting back into his usual hostile tone} [2/2] Seluc: Just get me out of here already. See, if an actual Bantisu monk had come down I’d probably be at home already, sipping tea by the fire! {resigned, then trying to keep the hostile tone} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1/2] Seluc: I know you humans are reckless, but I’d have expected you to have SOME concern, since you supposedly wanted to rescue me. {bad-tempered} [2/2] Seluc: Maybe you think anything's possible for you since you're a soldier, but I'm just a guy from Olux! I hardly know anything about the canyon outside of what the brochures say! {naturally starting to sound more relaxed} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1/1] Seluc: Ugh, my feet are killing me. Maybe this hike wouldn’t be so bad if SOMEONE hadn’t knocked me into a lake and made me lose my shoes! {bad-tempered} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1/6] Seluc: More earthquakes...? Wait- {surprised, somewhat scared} [2/6] Seluc: The ridge is collapsing!! {scared} [4/6] Seluc: ...perfect. Just GREAT! The only available path to the temple, and now it’s blocked off! Just my luck!! {mad at the world, sarcastic with a desperate subtone} [5/6] Seluc: ...wait. You’re reckless and willing to endanger your life, right? There’s no way that I could possibly use them, but I see some ledges. {a bit contemptuous with a very slight hopeful subtone} [6/6] Seluc: See, just to the side of the rockslide? There's some ledges to jump around on. {suggestive} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1/1] Seluc: Find me a way up, and fast! I've had enough of this stupid canyon. {commanding} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1/4] Seluc: ...of course it’s a ladder. I’m going to be feeling this climb for weeks... {disappointed but not surprised (;-D)} [2/4] Seluc: Huff...puff... Well...huff... Wait, there’s...there’s no way down the other side! Huff...what a waste!! {catching his breath, resigned} [3/4] Seluc: Can you do ANYTHING right?! There’s no way I’m jumping down there, you maniac! {desperate and mad} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1/2] Seluc: You...had better count yourself lucky I haven’t broken any bones from this. Agh...but that doesn’t mean I’m not aching all over!! {relieved, but trying to mask it with his usual tone} [2/2] Seluc: When I said you were reckless, I was hoping that maybe you’d keep that side of yourself away from other people!! {scolding, but not hostile anymore} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1/1] Seluc: At least we’re nearly at the temple now. Come on Seluc, silver linings, silver linings. You’re nearly away from this freak... {hopeful, speaking to himself} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1/4] Seluc: Okay, you know what? No. You’ve put me through QUITE a lot here, human, so you’re going to do me a favor and I’m not going to move another step til it’s done. {commanding and determined} [2/4] Seluc: I paid two weeks’ wages for that coat you soaked. I’m not leaving here without it, and I’m way too tired to walk back down. {firm and determined} [3/4] Seluc: So you’re going back down to the bottom of the ridge, and you’re going to get me my coat. It’s the least you could do. {firm} [4/4] Seluc: And be quick about it! I feel like these quakes are going to make the whole mountain collapse. That looks like it opened up a hole straight to the bottom! {commanding} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1/1] Seluc: Well? What are you waiting for? I'm freezing here! {grumpily} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [1/8] Seluc: Took you long enough, coat-fetcher! I’m practically frostbitten up here! {contemptuous, bad-tempered} [2/8] Seluc: You see, I was just speaking to Gana about your dirt-poor imitation of their job! You ought to be ashamed- I had to get up here all on my own! {mockingly, trying to sound confident} [3/8] Gana: ...hm. I will say, there are many lost around the canyon, Seluc- it may have been a long time before we were able to help you. {trying to diffuse the situation} [4/8] Seluc: Anyway! Give me that coat. The monks here are going to provide me some hospitality then guide me out of these wretched canyon walls. {trying to get it all over with} [5/8] Seluc: This is goodbye then, human, I won’t be missing you. Shoo! {contemptuous} [6/8] Gana: ...He did not really guide himself here. Did he. {kindly, friendly} //Ending 1 [7/8] Seluc: ...uh. ...dang it, why you gotta did that. {embarassed} [8/8] Gana: Let this be a lesson to you, Seluc. You cannot lie to those who see with the wind. Now show your gratitude to this kind human. {sublimely, somewhat firmly} //Ending 2 [7/8] Seluc: That's right! See, Gana? After all that, at least the human isn’t a liar. {trying to sound like the boss, while masking a relieved tone} [8/8] Gana: ...Well, 'coat fetcher', getting this man his coat is still a fine deed. And for that, you shall be rewarded. {very slightly contemptuously, but still friendly} --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- //Post quest [1/1] Gana: I do hope my aid was able to help you alongside that stubborn man. He is safe now- I can only hope he will change his demeanor now. {friendly}
